02 / Running and training

Build a running practice you can keep.

Stride is being shaped around the real rhythm of training: a plan for the week, a guided session when it is time to run, and useful feedback when the run is done. It aims to make consistency feel more understandable than simply following a number.

The idea

Training is more than a calendar of miles.

A useful running companion should connect a planned workout to how the athlete is actually feeling and what they have been doing. Stride explores that connection with a coached weekly plan, a recordable run, and a view of progress that includes both training and the gear that supports it.

The current proof of concept demonstrates this loop with sample athlete data and device or browser location for GPS recording. It is an early product slice, not a finished training service or a source of medical advice.

The training loop

Plan. Run. Learn. Repeat.

Stride brings a few practical training jobs together, while keeping the limits of an early build visible.

01 / Plan

A week with a purpose

View easy days, quality sessions, long runs, and strength work in one weekly schedule. The prototype includes simple readiness flags such as heat, HRV, glucose, and a foot-comfort flag to demonstrate how a planned session might be adjusted rather than blindly pushed through.

02 / Record

Capture a run with GPS

A guided session can use device location to record a route and calculate distance from GPS points. On a phone this requires location permission; the current prototype is not designed for reliable screen-off background recording.

03 / Review

Make the workout measurable

Run review explores pace, heart-rate zones, pace/heart-rate efficiency, and distance-based race-time estimates. These calculations are training context, not guarantees of future performance.

04 / Maintain

Track the small things that add up

Weekly mileage, shoe wear, logged sessions, and milestone medals help make consistency visible. Stride is also being designed with room for the athlete’s own choices about when to rest, adjust, or move on.

Availability

In development. Not yet public.

Stride is an evolving proof of concept. Account sync, background recording while the screen is off, HealthKit heart-rate integration, and watch notifications are not part of the current slice. Training prompts are not medical guidance; athletes should use their own judgment and consult qualified professionals when needed.
